Public Art

“Spirit Wheel” is a depiction of a spindle whorl that was used historically by Coast Salish peoples to spin wool. This cedar carving depicts the circle of life, with salmon swimming in one direction and within the salmon are eagles and ravens. Kevin Paul was assisted on this carving project by local craftsman, David Butts of Marblemount, Washington. It is located in the courtyard of Maple Hall, LaConner, Washington. Five feet in diameter. Ron Shrigley of LaConner was instrumental in this commission.
